| | | | Always enjoyable I have been coming here religiously for years now. I have brought everyone of my friends and family. Everyone always is pleased. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate. Ambient music, tea lights burning on each table (someone made these tables with love). You get this wonderful blend of trendy and deep family rooted restaurant. Be sure to take notice of the family photos. Staff has been the same warm welcoming faces since I first visited. I love that the menu is fa-neh-tick. BYO, but being a snob, I bring my own wine glasses. Theirs are the very small wine glasses. If you forgot your bottle there is a liquor store (Wine Village) a few doors down that will deliver! The food here is consistently excellent. I’m always anxious to try the new specials. Be sure to let your server know if you like it spicy! The chefs here will customize. This is a local favorite worth adding to your regular haunts. Dishes I tried: These fried spring rolls are cruncy, taste wonderful and never last long at the table! This soup was delicious. There were mushroom, chili paste, cilantro & lime juice in the soup. The spice slowly built as I was eating. Once I finished, my sinuses were clear! This is creamy comfort food for me. The Masaman chicken arrives in a bowl with a larger plate of rice. Chunks of chicken and sweet potatos with peanut gems get spooned out onto the rice. Never any leftovers. I prefer this over the Beef version since this has the sweet potatos. This is my regular meal here. It is a green curry chicken with eggplant, bamboo shoots & soy bean pods. I love to sop up the sauce on this dish into the rice. The dish is mildly spicy and has a sort of creaminess to it. This fried rice has ruined all Chinese style fried rice forever for me. I rarely make fried rice my entree, but Bangkok’s is filling and satisfying. The pineapple becomes slightly caramelized and really takes this simple dish to the next level. This is a crowd favorite here and a wonderful first step for Thai first timers. | 1/24/2010 - 5 Stars I think it's safe to say this is my favorite thai restaurant in the area. I absolutely LOVE the ambiance - I believe one of the owners actually designed the tables and some of the main pieces in there. The red walls against candle light make for a warm and inviting meal.
Foodwise? Everything I've tried has been a WIN. From the pad thai, pineapple fried rice, massamun curry, to green curry - absolutely FANTASTIC and my go-to thai place.
I recommend Bangkok Kitchen 1000x times over. It's family owned and you def. feel like you know whose serving you dinner when you've gone there more than once. Gina C. Little Falls, NJ 10/2/2009 - 5 Stars My guy found this place for us through Yelp! one night when were craving some Thai in the area. All of the reviews were positive, so we said, "Let's do this!" After one try, It has quickly turned into our little place to hit whenever we're feeling a tiny bit fancy.
The food is INCREDIBLE! The fried tofu appetizer is the best...A thin crunchy crust over bite sized tofu pieces with a great sweet and sour relish to dip with. The ginger pandanus tea is probably the greatest beverage I've ever had...The flavors dance on your tongue and can bring anyone to their knees! Their curries are perfect! You can get them as sweet or as spicy as you want without any lip from the staff.
Speaking of the wait staff, they are really great and know exactly what they are talking about. They will explain what every single item is on the menu if you asked them to, I'm sure!

Small but intimate atmosphere with good service. | | | By TGraham13 - May 10, 2009 Thai food ong ago became one...of my favorite cuisine, and when I moved to Caldwell I was pleasantly suprised to find this restaurant. There is no shortage of choices when it comes to Thai in this area, hoever the food at this establishment deserves return visits. ... Delicious Thai This is my #1 destination when I've got a Thai craving. Whether it's dining-in or taking-out, I always look forward to my dinner. MY recommendation is to order one of their barbecue dishes. ... |
good food! This is a cute thai place. Their food always tastes fresh. Somestimes the service can be a bit slow, but is always friendly. Their prices aren't too bad either. |
Easily one of the best in the neighborhood By Nickname unavailable - Jul 23, 2008 Bang for the buck - this place cannot be beaten. It's a great combination of food, ambiance and chill-factor that make this one of the gems of northern Jersey. Couples, yuppies and the 'established' of the Caldwells call this home and there's good reason why. It's easy to sit and relax and eat at a non-frantic pace and pick from a rotating specials on the board that keep it simple, fresh and really good. Given the other options around this place has everything going for it. While the place has the thai specials that every other one has, it has it's own menu that really shines. We don't own stock in the place, we're just customers who like it. |
| User Rating: 4 out of 5 stars 07/10/2008 I agree with foodie, we've eaten here many times, the food has always been delicious and the service is fine. I especially like the BBQ spare ribs and thai dumpling appetizers (great sauce)! User Rating: 4 out of 5 stars 05/26/2008 I do not know what the previous reviews are talking about. I have been going to Bangkok Kitchen for over three years and the food is always fresh, tasty and great flavor combinations. The food is inexpensive for the portion size. Maybe they should try the Chinese Buffet at the Majestic Restaurant so they can eat all the greasy food they want for 15.95. User Rating: 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/2007 Fantastic! I love that a small business is making it in our tiny town. The business is so smart. They have some wonderful touches that makes them stand apart. I love the piece of ginger in the bottom of my cold tea at the end of the meal. Great touch! Can't wait to go back |
